welcome to hawkshead hall
A huge welcome to one and all from Hawkshead Hall campsite. This is a family's only campsite but couples and camping club members are welcome.
We hope that your stay with us here in Hawkshead will be a memorable one.
Hawkshead village is steeped in ancient heritage. The township originally belonged to Furness Abbey until the 12th century, however, after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1537, it flourished as a market town. The monks owned Hawkshead Hall at the far end of the village. The original hall no longer exists but the land upon which it stood is now Hawkshead Hall Campsite.
Hawkshead Hall Campsite is situated on the North side of Hawkshead village about 1/4 of a mile to the center where there are shops, inns, cafes, church, recreation ground, bus stop, Wordsworth Grammar School, Museum, and Beatrix Potter Gallery.
The views along the valley are simply stunning. There is a permitted footpath from the campsite through the fields to the village.
